Keeping an Eye on the Supply Chain

The research and teaching activities in the Department of Fresh Produce Logistics cover a range of issues related to the logistics, quality, processing and marketing of foodstuffs. The main focus of our research and teaching in almost all areas is the comprehensive study of the supply chain, from production right through to the customer.

Thanks to our department’s interdisciplinary team of logisticians, economists, technologists and agricultural scientists and a good cooperative network with the other departments at HGU, we can offer research and teaching of the very highest quality.  Furthermore, our close ties and cooperation with the various different organisations within the “foodstuffs” supply chain ensure that our research and teaching have strong practical relevance in a field with a promising future.

In addition, the department runs the degree program “Logistics and Management of Fresh Products (B.Sc.)”, which at present is the only one of its kind in Germany.
