Geisenheim University is linked to institutions worldwide through partnership and exchange agreements. As a student at Geisenheim University, you have the opportunity to spend a semester abroad, carry out a research project or write your thesis without paying tuition fees.

Professors, lecturers and researchers at Geisenheim University have many contacts, networks, research projects and collaborations with colleagues abroad - please speak to your lecturer or head of degree program about the possibilities of a stay abroad!

Our partner universities also offer our employees opportunities for exchange and joint projects.

The following list gives you an overview of the language requirements, suitable subjects and semester times at our partner universities. In addition, you will find further links for country-specific information on suitable scholarships or travel and safety information. The list itself is currently under construction. Missing information will be added over time.

Our co-operation with universities is constantly being expanded! Please contact the International Office if you cannot find your favourite university on the list of partner universities (yet).

The partnerships listed are primarily for the degree programmes mentioned, but it may also be possible for students from other degree programmes to be nominated by the International Office after consultation with the desired university.

Due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, it is not possible to study there until further notice. Hochschule Geisenheim University is coordinating organizational, technical and financial support for employees and members of its partner universities:

Do you want to study in the USA or Australia and are wondering how this can be financed? So that students can afford a stay despite the high tuition fees, the state of Hesse has concluded a student exchange agreement with the states of Massachusetts and Wisconsin in the USA and the state of Queensland in Australia.

Participants in the program do not have to pay tuition fees at the host American or Australian university. For all other costs, it is possible to apply for other scholarship programs or foreign student loans. As part of the exchange program, you can apply for a place at one of the participating partner universities.

Applications are initially submitted via the International Office of Hochschule Geisenheim University. You submit your application documents to us in English and by email (international(at)hs-gm.de). If you are selected for the program, you must also apply to the relevant university.

The application deadline for a stay in the USA is in November for the following academic year. For a stay in Australia, you can apply in May for the following year.

A special opportunity for a stay abroad in the USA (University of California, Davis) is offered by the Flossfeder Scholarship of Hochschule Geisenheim University for the degree courses Beverage Technology and Viticulture and Enology.
