The professorship’s research focuses on the environmental assessment of special crops along the entire value chain. In addition to identifying negative environmental impacts, the various positive ecosystem services provided by the analyzed agricultural systems will also be integrated into the assessment process. Based on these results, the analyzed systems can be optimized comprehensively which contributes to the development of sustainable value chains for special crops. Another key area of the professorship’s research includes the use of monetization approaches to calculate the true economic value and negative environmental impact of the analyzed systems.
