Staff and students are often the first to notice unlawful activities or irregularities at the university. Nevertheless, many people are afraid to report such wrongdoings. On July 2, 2023 the German Whistleblower Protection Act (Hinweisgeberschutzgesetz – HinSchG) finally entered into force, which implements uniform protection standards for whistleblowers across the EU.
