Spending time abroad during your degree course gives you the chance to gain important subject- and study-related experience while broadening your personal horizons. It is possible to study at a university abroad for one or more semesters and/or to complete an internship in a foreign country. Universities abroad also offer language courses, or you have the option of completing your final thesis abroad.
You will need to start planning your stay abroad at least one year before your departure. Some scholarship programs have very early application deadlines and, depending on the country, you will have to complete a number of formalities (visa application, for example). Take advantage of the opportunities your degree course offers and use the support services of the International Office at Hochschule Geisenheim University. We’ll provide you with information on completing a semester or an internship abroad during your studies and also advise you on funding programs and scholarship schemes.
There are two options available if you wish to spend a semester abroad:
An internship abroad is an interesting way of spending part of your study period in a foreign country. You’ll have the chance to get to know everyday life and the working environment in another country while at the same time developing your professional skills. Internship and Vocational Studies (BPS-) Advisors and the International Relations Coordinator (Auslandsbeauftragte) of Hochschule Geisenheim University provide support for students in finding a suitable placement and completing the necessary formalities.
