Hochschule Geisenheim University is committed to promoting and supporting junior scientists. 

Our structured doctoral program is an excellent basis to pursue your doctorate reaping the benefits of a lively, interdisciplinary environment whilst automatically being part of our Graduate School.

The Graduate School is the central point of contact and service for doctoral students providing a broad spectrum of resources, individual counseling, networking as well as a structured qualification program in addition to research competence and technical expertise. For all organizational questions regarding doctoral studies please contact the Doctoral Office.

Hochschule Geisenheim University has excellent co-operations which enable you to be jointly supervised by a leading academic from Geisenheim and a collaborating supervisor from the partner university. For example, you may benefit from the "tandem supervision" during the doctoral process with a cooperating partner university. In this case, your first supervisor is from Hochschule Geisenheim University and the second supervisor from one of our partner universities.

Victor Cotea successfully defended his doctoral thesis titled “The removal of volatile phenols from Brettanomyces-contaminated wine using Molecularly lmprinted Polymers” on February 09, 2022 at Hochschule Geisenheim University.

His Doctorate was supervised by Prof. Dr. Monika Christmann, Department of Enology, Hochschule Geisenheim University and Prof. Dr. Sylvia Schnell, Faculty 09,  General and Soil Microbiology, Justus Liebig University, Giessen and jointly evaluated together with Prof. Dr. Stamatina Kallithraka, Dep. Food Science & Human Nutrition, Agricultural University of Athens, Greece.
