Professorship for Landscape Architecture, Design and Communication

Creating livable spaces for people and animals, exploring creative possibilities for planners, and doing justice to the constantly evolving requirements of a changing environment through design.

These are the subject areas we are investigating in the Department of Open Space Development in the field of Landscape Architecture, Design and Communication and the areas in which we are trying to find practical solutions. We analyze planning areas in different locations, sizes, environments, and user groups, finding ways to fill them with life through concepts and designs for both the present and the future. Alongside the various social, ecological, and economical aspects, aesthetics is also discussed as a field of activity.

We find planning solutions primarily through a process of experimenting, designing, rejecting, and rethinking before discussing ideas in groups and putting them to the test.

Diversity, developmental capacity, and participation are terms that are central to both the planning of spaces and also the exchange of ideas within the department.
