“Una Pizza Vegetariana” is the name of this year’s winning design from Hochschule Geisenheim University in the 9th show garden competition for the “FürstlichesGartenfest” at the Fasanerie Palace. Landscape Architecture students Henriette Derix and Eva Schmidt convinced the jury with their imaginative interpretation of this culinary export hit on this year’s special theme “Italy”. The second prize also went to Geisenheim for “UtoPisa”, a fantastic, green, Leaning Tower of Pisa designed by Kai Faust and Martina Heims. Third prize was won by the TU-Dresden for “A Day at the Seaside”.

These three designs were chosen by a specialist jury and presented in the January edition of the professional journal “Gartenpraxis” for the final vote. A total of 5 higher education institutions took part in this competition for students of Landscape Architecture and young design companies.

Visitors will be able to admire the “Pizza Garden”, created under the supervision of the two students, from 13th – 16th May 2016 at the “FürstlichesGartenfest”, a garden show held at the Fasanerie Palace near Fulda. This event, one of the mostprestigious of its kind in Germany, will give Eva Schmidt and Henriette Derix the opportunity to showcase their work to over 25,000 garden lovers and enthusiasts.

In addition to an exclusive profile in the journal “Gartenpraxis”, the winners can look forward to 1000 Euros in prize money donated by the Herbert Heise Foundation for Garden Art and Landscape Culture.
