The DGV is chaired by the Parliamentary State Secretary Norbert Barthle, MP, and was founded ten years ago to promote economic relations between Germany and Greece. Together with the DGV, Szolnoki organized an official visit to Baden on October 14-15, 2020, for representatives of politics and the wine industry from the Greek region Aristoteli (eastern part of the peninsula Chalkidiki). The aim of the exchange was to lay the foundation for a long-term cooperation between Freiburg and Aristoteli in the area of wine tourism, and to gather experience and information on wine and culinary tourism in Baden. As part of the official trip, the delegation, accompanied by the DGV and Szolnoki, visited several wineries in the Kaiserstuhl area and the Markgräflerland region, and met with experts in the city hall of Freiburg and the Baden Winegrowing Association. As a result, the Greek partner will step up its support for the topic of "Culinary delights in the Winery" in the area of tourism and will promote the wine route developed last year in the northern Greek region more attractively. In addition, both partners wish to establish a regular exchange.
