The Professorship for Logistics Management is held by Prof. Dr. Andreas Holzapfel and addresses planning problems in supply chain management, whereby a comprehensive approach to supply and value chains plays a pivotal role. Key application areas are trade logistics and the consumer goods industry, particularly in the area of (fresh) foods. Particular emphasis is placed on the challenges of digitalisation (omni-channel retail, big data solutions). Close contact and cooperation with corporate practices give our research and teaching a strong practical relevance. In terms of methodology, our research specialises in decision support, using the methods of operations research and management science, as well as the empirical, explorative study of new logistical challenges.
