Nature Conservation and Development Planning

In his inaugural lecture, Dr. Lukas will be presenting on the requirements of conservation law for the preparation of urban land-use plans. According to the German Federal Building Code, urban land-use plans should help protect the foundations of natural life. These plans determine not only the architectural aspects of a city or municipality but also the use of its open spaces. Lukas’ lecture offers an overview of the individual tools of conservation law and describes how conservation issues can be properly accounted for in urban land-use plans.
