Library usage

By applying for a library card or using library services of any kind you agree to the libray rules and regulations.
Students:
The Student-ID is needed for application. After activation, it will function as library card as well.
Staff:
Members of staff of Geisenheim University get a library card at the front desk.
Externals:
Our library is open for all interested externals. External users need a valid ID or passport to apply for a library card.
If items are overdue you will be charged a weekly fine of 3,00 Euro per item.
The fees base on the Hessian Administration Fine Law of the the Hessen State Ministry for Higher Education, Research and the Arts and are due by creation of the payment collection letter and not the delivery.

Our books and other media from the open and closed stacks are borrowable.
Excluded from this are periodicals, the reference collection and books published before 1946. These can only be used inside the library.
Lending period:
books, CD-ROMs, series : 4 weeks = 20 opening days
semester books: 17 weeks = 85 opening days
Please show your library card or student-ID unasked at the front desk when borrowing items!
The loan period can be renewed twice. If an item is reserved by another user, a renewal is not possible.

We will answer any questions you might have during our opening hours. Due to Organizational causes this process may take up to one workday.
As soon as your request is processed, we will delete all of your information. As a result, completed tasks can no longer be tracked.
Note:
- WhatsApp encrypts your messages insufficiently. Due to this please only send us those informations that third party participants can read too.

- Please inform yourself about the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy of the Service.
- Only WhatsApp requests are answered via this mobile number. Voice messages, SMS, or phone calls are ignored.
