Academic quality is an important measure of success for Hochschule Geisenheim University. Through the use of different procedures the Academic Development Department determines and evaluates the quality of the teaching and academic business. These procedures are:

• Evaluations of the classes by the students
• Opinion surveys for firsttime students
• Opinion surveys concerning the overall satisfaction
• Opinion surveys for graduates
• Interviews with focus groups
• Evaluations of degree programs

The aim behind these procedures is to constantly improve and develop teaching and studying. By using all these different instruments and transferring the survey results into communication procedures and decision-making processes, the quality control loop concerning teaching and studying will be complete.
