First International Staff Week at Hochschule Geisenheim University

From June 12 – 16, 2023, Hochschule Geisenheim University hosted its first International Staff Week for its 14 partner universities from the Caucasus region and the Western Balkans. In total, 31 participants from Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine as well as Albania and Kosovo attended the training week. In addition to international office staff, the university welcomed lecturers, professors and deans from the faculties of agricultural sciences.

Discussing current topics in food biotechnology, learning from experts and peers - that's the goal of our Summer School for doctoral students and early postdocs. Expert lectures provide a comprehensive introduction to topics such as aroma production and analysis, enzymes in food production or experimental design. To promote the exchange of ideas and experiences, young scientists are invited to present and discuss their current work.

In mid-April, Hochschule Geisenheim University was awarded the status of a “Fairtrade University” and is only the second university in the whole of Hesse to receive this title.
