Terraced Vineyards as a Strategy for the Future of Steep Slope Viticulture

What are the benefits of terraced vineyards for winegrowers? How does nature benefit, what are the economic effects and what does the future of steep slope viticulture look like? At the beginning of September, a team of Geisenheim researchers working at the Departments of General and Organic Viticulture and Applied Ecology presented the results of the BioQuiS project which studied the effects of terraced vineyards in steep slope viticulture.

Hochschule Geisenheim University Celebrates 319 Graduates in Schloss Johannisberg

This year, we had two reasons to celebrate: In a festive ceremony held in Schloss Johannisberg on Friday, July 29, Hochschule Geisenheim University said goodbye to two graduating classes – winter semester 2021/22 and summer semester 2022. In addition to 319 graduates who received their well-deserved Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, Hochschule Geisenheim University proudly awarded 6 doctoral certificates. As part of the ceremony, the university bid farewell to three retiring professors.
