The next annual meeting of the association of German oenologists (Bunde Deutscher Oenologen – BDO) takes place at the Geisenheim campus on Tuesday 15 March 2011.

The meeting kicks off at 9h00 with lectures on current topics such as viticultural policies, problematic microbial substances, the protein content of wine and remote monitoring in viticulture. In addition, this year’s winners of the scholarship awarded by the association will be presenting their findings. In the afternoon, the meeting is broken down into workshops on microbial quality control, efficiency in viticulture, wine and the Internet, climate change as well as energy management in the cellar.

The day ends with a sparkling wine reception and a guided tour through the new cellar at the Steinberg state domain in Eltville, followed by a Flying Dinner at the Weinbistro Altes Rathaus in Oestrich-Winkel.
