University Logo
With the establishment of the new Hochschule Geisenheim University, it was high time to give the institution's image a much-needed update. The new logo was designed at the end of 2012 with the help of the Offenbach design agency PPS Studios GmbH.
Our new corporate design concept is based on this newly developed logo, which is intended to reflect Hochschule Geisenheim University's modernity and connection to nature. The logo is supposed to be visually engaging, distinctive, memorable, and easily recognizable, even without accompanying text. The aim was to represent the unique selling point of Geisenheim as a 'new type' of university, reflecting the unique combination of research opportunities and strong practical focus across the university's wide range of nature-oriented courses. The symbiosis of teaching, research and praxis offers Geisenheim students a decisive advantage internationally and was therefore a key element that needed to be emphasized in the branding. The design agency PPS Studios ultimately proposed five potential designs which were then presented on the university website and voted on by members of the university. There was one unequivocal winner, and so the university's new image – as well as the name Hochschule Geisenheim University – was born.
