While a large part of university life took place in front of the computer over last three semesters, Hochschule Geisenheim University is planning to organize as many on-campus courses as possible in the upcoming winter semester 2021/22. "We are planning to return to a more or less normal semester, if the pandemic situation allows it", says Prof. Dr. Hans Reiner Schultz, President of Hochschule Geisenheim University. Hochschule Geisenheim University wants to offer all first-semester students a safe start to their studies. 2021 OIV Research Grants to Support Priority Programs

Within the framework of developing its Strategic Plan, the OIV (International Organization of Vine and Wine) grants research scholarships on a yearly basis to support priority programs. The scholarships are granted for a short period (six months to fifteen months maximum) and provided for specific postgraduate training programs. Suitable candidates must be qualified and eager to advance their research, increase their skills, and keep up on the latest progress made in their field of study and/or work.

Prof. Dr. Monika Christmann, Head of the Department of Enology at Hochschule Geisenheim University, chaired the 19th OIV General Assembly (International Organization of Vine and Wine) in Paris on July 12, 2021, standing in for the outgoing President and new Vice President, Regina Vanderlinde, who was unable to enter the country due to quarantine requirements.
