Professorship for Planting Design

The main focus of this chair lies in the area of urban botany and planting design in the field of landscape architecture, in particular at the interfaces to aesthetic, economic, social and ecological effects. This includes a site-appropriate greening of public, semi-public and private spaces. The research focuses on the composition of public traffic areas and facade planting in adaption to current social needs and climatic change.  It emphasizes in particular the potential of native species in urban as well as rural areas. The research is aimed for practical usage and implementation.
